Harness Racing Photo Postcard. A horse passing in front of an empty grandstand at Michigan State Fair, Michigan.
On back reads: The 5,000-seat grandstand was among the earliest structures built at the fair. During its near century lifetime, it hosted harness racing - as shown in this 1910 image - as well as thoroughbreds, early auto racing, Wild west shows, and rock concerts. The grandstand was declared unsafe in 1971 and torn down 30 years later.
